Huge Turnout at Sacred Heart Summer Fayre

summer fayreCongratulations to the pupils, staff, parishioners and local community in raising an amazing £4009.99 at the school fayre.

The fayre was the biggest and best so far, with cake stalls, bottle and chocolate tombola’s, books and toys stalls, refreshments. There were trampolines, bouncy castle, coconut shy, football shootout, a huge inflatable slide, basketball, and a fire engine......and much, much more.

Of course the most popular event was the stocks where our very own headmaster Mr Naughton was hit by wet sponges for three hours! He was joined by a very brave ex pupil Reece Williams and a few parents!

The fayre had an amazing turn out which can be seen by the amount raised, this shows the community backing that Sacred Heart has. The whole community enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere was buzzing.

Gateshead Council say we are an ‘unpopular school’ I don’t think so!!!

A big thanks to all who were involved in organising the fayre and all those who helped on the day. What will they think of for next year?

Success on Sacred Heart Open Day

In order to raise the profile of our wonderful school, the school held an Open Day on Tuesday 18th May.

Parishioners and parents enjoyed creative lessons, watching gardening club, singing, dancing and looking at our children’s displays. There were also many head teachers, councillors and the Mayor John Eagle who stayed for lunch and watched music lessons and the fantastic Sacred Heart Song.

The results from the Open Day were outstanding; Pre-school had over 25 new enquiries and an application taken for years Y1 and Y5.

Sacred Heart School is going from strength to strength!
